“VAL DI NON” – TRENTINO ALTO ADIGE
"VAL DI NON" It is one of the most famous valleys in Trentino, known above all for its immense apple growing and good typical cuisine. This sunny and industrious area, located along the holographic left of the great Adige valley, north of Trento, is also known for many other reasons. Art, nature, history and religion are intensely intertwined in this area. Just think of the majestic and rich Castel Thun, inhabited by the House of the noble Counts Thun from the first centuries after the year 1000 ... and until the second half of the twentieth century. It preserves original furnishings and objects dating back to the period between the late Middle Ages and the beginning of the 20th century: furniture, objects, furnishings, paintings, mirrors, rugs: a catalog of fashion and good taste of great importance. Also worth mentioning is the beautiful village of Fondo and the town of Clès, the largest center of the nonesa area, with the Palazzo Assessorile where precious frescoes are preserved in the particular Renaissance-Clesian style and the historic area, with narrow streets and shops. Again: the austere and spiritual hermitage of San Romedio. A very ancient place of worship where San Romedio Eremita (8th century AD) lived long years in total isolation in a natural cave on which, today, five superimposed churches have been built, connected between them by more than 300 steps. Do not forget a quick visit to Lake Santa Giustina: the largest artificial lake in Trentino, perfectly inserted in the landscape and, therefore, perfectly naturalized ... or to the equally famous Lake Tòvel, called the "Red Lake" for the particular coloring that its waters take on at certain times of the year due to the subaquee blooms of some algae. Lake Tòvel, in particular, is located within the enchanting scenery of the Adamello-Brenta Regional Natural Park, for a total immersion in the greenery and tranquility.
